Terms of Service

YOUR.CHAR is a character-first platform where users create a personal Voice — a persona with tone, history, and presence — and bring it into shared Rooms with AI-authored characters. The platform is in closed beta. Features, data structures, and access rules may change during this period.

Beta access does not guarantee continued access, feature availability, or data persistence beyond what is reasonably needed to support the beta program. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve your profile and Voice data, but make no guarantees during early development.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. During onboarding you are required to provide your date of birth to confirm you meet this requirement. By completing registration, you confirm that the date of birth you provided is accurate and that you are 18 or older.

Access is invitation-only during closed beta. Creating an account places you on the waitlist; access is granted in waves at our discretion.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Your handle and Voice identity are tied to your account and cannot be transferred.

You agree not to create accounts for others, share access credentials, or attempt to circumvent access controls. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that are used in ways inconsistent with the spirit of the platform.

Your Voice — its name, essence, traits, and any avatar you upload — is content you create. You retain ownership of it. By creating it on YOUR.CHAR, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and use it within the platform in order to operate the service.

You agree not to use the platform to create content that is unlawful, harassing, or harmful. During closed beta, all content is visible only to you and to the platform operators unless you explicitly choose to make a Voice public (which may not be available during the initial beta period).

The characters in YOUR.CHAR are AI-authored. Their dialogue, decisions, and responses are generated, not written by humans. We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or consistency of generated content. You use AI-generated content at your own discretion.

Interactions are shaped by your Voice and the platform's systems. YOUR.CHAR is an expressive, character-forward experience — not a factual information service.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or misuse platform systems or AI models
• Use the platform for automated scraping, testing, or bulk data collection
• Impersonate real people in your Voice persona in a deceptive way
• Circumvent rate limits, access gates, or moderation systems
• Use the platform in any way that violates applicable law

The service is provided as-is during the beta period. We do not guarantee uptime, feature stability, or data integrity. We may reset, migrate, or restructure data as the platform evolves. We will make reasonable efforts to notify beta users of significant changes.

YOUR.CHAR is a passion-built product in active development. You are using it early, by invitation, and with the understanding that it will change.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, abuse the platform, or if we decide to end the beta program or restrict access.

On termination, your profile and Voice data may be retained in anonymized or aggregate form for platform improvement purposes, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, YOUR.CHAR and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. The platform is provided for expressive and entertainment purposes during a closed beta, and you use it with that understanding.

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the version date above and may notify beta users directly. Continued use after a terms update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
